Anita Fenton
Hand Therapist
Anita graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2012 and has spent the last 13 years working in Canterbury across a number of different settings including communication, vocational rehabilitation and hospital-based rehab. Anita has previously completed a postgraduate certificate in Occupational Therapy practice. Anita joined the Active Hand Rehab Team in 2022 and has completed her post graduate study in Hand and Upper limb and gained full hand therapy registration.
Anita enjoys being able to work with clients through both assessment and rehabilitation to help them achieve their goals.
Outside of work Anita keeps busy with DIY projects like campervan conversions, making costumes, and craft projects.

Kylie Kerr
Hand Therapist (Intern)
Kylie graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2006 and has spent the last 18 years working in Canterbury across a number of different settings including hand therapy, spinal rehab and hospital-based rehab. Kylie has recently joined the Active Hand Rehab Team in early 2025.

Kursty Whittal
Hand Therapist Associate
Kursty graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2024, where she developed a strong interest in hand therapy. She is passionate about delivering a positive and holistic approach to clinical care, and finds great fulfillment in supporting individuals from all backgrounds to regain independence and enhance their quality of life by working collaboratively toward their personal goals.
Kursty is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in hand and upper limb therapy, aiming to become a registered hand therapist.
Outside of work, she enjoys going to the gym, hiking, and experimenting in the kitchen.
Lyndall O’Loughlin 
Director and Hand Therapist
Lyndall is a registered hand therapist with more than 15 years experience in hand therapy. Lyndall completed her Masters in Hand Therapy through the University of Derby, UK. Lyndall is passionate about hand therapy rehabilitation through all stages of the rehab process including acute trauma and fracture management, sports injuries, chronic strains, and post operative care. Lyndall specialises in the management of persistent pain related to elbow, wrist and hand injuries. Lyndall works closely with hand surgeons and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure the best outcome for her clients enabling them to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Out of work Lyndall loves the spending time with her family, bike-riding and walking the family’s Labrador on the beach.
Marysia Sewell
Hand Therapist
Marysia graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2017 and has completed her full registration for Hand Therapy, including postgraduate certificate in Health Science; Rehabilitation.
Marysia enjoys the challenge of working in a specialised area of the upper limb and thrives off enabling clients to return to activities important to them. Marysia prides herself on the ability to connect with the variety of individuals and tailor rehabilitation programmes to the person.
In her spare time, Marysia enjoys bouldering, embroidering, netball, touch rugby and catching up with friends.
Shanika Amarasena
Hand Therapist Associate
Shanika graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Colombo in 2021, Diploma in Exercises and Sports sciences from university of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and has found her passion in the field of hand therapy. She has spent 5 years working in private practice as a physiotherapist in Sri Lanka. Shanika joined the Active Hand Rehab Team in early 2025 and is actively working toward obtaining full hand therapy registration.Shanika is committed to embracing new challenges and continuously developing her professional skills.
Outside of her work, she enjoys dancing, traveling and exploring nature.
Admin Staff

Julie
Admin
Julie is the first point of contact for our clients. She joined Active Hand Rehab at the beginning of the 2024 and very much enjoys assisting our clients in arranging their hand rehab.
Outside of work Julie like to spend her time catching up with friends, going walks and gardening.

Zelda
Admin
Zelda joined Active Hand Rehab in March 2021 after retiring from the formal workforce. She looks after the administration required behind the scenes on a day-to-day basis eg Billing, invoicing etc.
In her spare time Zelda volunteers with Canine Friends Pet Therapy, is a Community Patrol member, Wow Dresser and backstage Theatre crew. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.
